Recorded at Veneto Studios in Santa Monica, CA, Multitudes was co-produced by Houlahan with Ronan Chris Murphy (King Crimson, Nels Cline) and engineered by Diego Lopez. Along with band members Mike Gattshall (drums) and Esther Clark (backing vocals), the group brought in talented session players Fernando Perdomo (Linda Perhacs, Jakob Dylan) on bass, and Danny Frankel (Lou Reed, K.D. Lang) on percussion. Other players who contribute are Kaitlin Wolfberg on violin/viola, Erik Kristiansen on pedal steel and Danny Levin on horns. Houlahan plays electric and acoustic guitars, contributing both lead and rhythm parts. He also contributes ambient sound with the Omnichord on several tracks.
